Além daquilo que se vê: o olhar e o sujeito a partir dos espelhos no filme As praias de Agnès

No espelho me vejo sendo visto. Visto por mim, visto pelo outro. Outro que sou eu. Estar diante de um espelho é olhar e ser olhado, ato fundamental para a constituição do sujeito. Na sequência inicial do filme As praias de Agnès, a cineasta belga Agnès Varda evidencia o ato de olhar, colocando-o em questão através do uso de espelhos. Nesse tensionamento ela propõe uma autobiografia fora do banal, em busca do invisível. Este artigo traz uma discussão acerca da construção do sujeito, além de uma reflexão sobre o olhar, tendo como ponto de partida especificamente o trecho mencionado do filme.

In the mirror I see myself being seen. Seen by me, seen by the other. The other one that I am. To stand before a mirror is to look and be looked at, a fundamental act for the constitution of the subject. In the initial sequence of the film Les plages d’Agnès, the belgian filmmaker Agnès Varda evidences the act of looking, putting it into question through the use of mirrors. In this tension she proposes an autobiography out of the banal, in search of the invisible. This article presents a discussion about the construction of the subject, in addition to a reflection about the look, having as a starting point specifically the mentioned section of the film.
