O Observador na Contemporaneidade: Um diálogo com Jonathan Crary e com o século XIX
Palavras-chave Based on the work of Jonathan Crary, the paper discusses the process of modernization of perception, initiated from an epistemological turn that culminates with the emergence of a new type of observer in the nineteenth century. The neutral observer model of the camera obscura gives place to corporfied subjects, active producers of their optical experiences. By looking back to the nineteenth century, the intention is to think possible similarities and differences between optical devices identified by Crary and current virtual reality devices, exisiting in contemporary installations that increasingly involve a (re)investment of the body in the production of experience.
