Lobas em Extinção: O êxodo das mulheres anti-idade da publicidade de cosmecêuticos para as ruas
Palavras-chave This essay examines the cult of eternal youth and the concealment of evidences of body decomposition in images of cosmeceutical advertising. It presents initial assessments of a broader PhD research project on the concealment of signs of aging in images of women between 40 and 50 years old; the exodus of anti-aging women from women’s magazines to the streets; the exaltation of nymphs, and the consolidation of the lean “old ladies” on media and advertising. The essay argues that the erasure of time signs of the faces of these women, and their transposition to the streets, is not just driven by the market, but also by the incessant quest to freeze linear time, the fear and denial of death in the spectacle of contemporary life.
