O artigo apresenta reflexões em torno dos estudos de gênero, principalmente no Brasil, ampliando a discussão para além da compreensão de “feminino” e “masculino”, priorizando pensamentos que evidenciam o tamanho dos dilemas que envolvem a transgeneridade, a aceitação do eu, na cultura e na sociedade ocidental – a que vivemos. Se ser “homem” ou “mulher” dentro deste contexto social já é uma missão difícil e cheia de dificuldades, mesmo que não haja conflitos sexuais (homossexuais, por exemplo), imaginemos o fardo de quem decide revelar para o mundo que nasceu no “corpo errado”. Para tanto, recorreu-se a um diálogo entre autores que já escreveram sobre a construção social do corpo e da alma em diferentes campos.

The article presents reflections on gender studies, especially in Brazil, extending the discussion beyond the understanding of "feminine" and "masculine", prioritizing thoughts that show the size of the dilemmas that involve transgeneration, the acceptance of the self in the culture and Western society - to which we live. If being a "man" or "woman" within this social context is already a difficult and difficult task, even if there are no sexual conflicts (homosexuals, for example), let us imagine the burden of those who decide to reveal to the world that was born in the " wrong body ". For this, a dialogue was used between authors who have written about the social construction of body and soul in different fields.
